Total gamechanger! Dont have to worry about buying tampons every month, can feel great about doing my bit for the environment, and can forget about watching the clock or worrying about changing a tampon. I have never experienced a leak even during sport and maybe its coincidence but my period pains dont seem anywhere as bad. Wish I'd discovered these earlier.

After years of horrendous periods, leaking through everything I eventually tried a mooncup and now wish I'd done it years ago. Feels so much cleaner, no leaks, don't have to worry anymore it's fantastic

I can’t believe I waited so long to adopt the mooncup. No waste and works amazingly well. Takes a couple of days to feel it’s going to work for you ie how long you can wait between emptying but impressed so far. I am a convert.

I absolutely love my Mooncup and couldn't recommend it more. I'd been considering one for ages after a friend raved about it and my only regret is not getting one sooner, it's so easy to use, you get used to it really quickly and the Mooncup resources are brilliant and really reassuring.

Honestly the best decision I've ever made - if you're sat on the fence go for it! It amused me no end to be told that turning thirty meant my pelvic floor was about to self-destruct and I'd need to get the bigger cup, but I followed the advice and it's perfect. My sister bought one at the same time and she is a total convert too!

After years of tampon use I was very hesitant to try a menstrual cup. After much research I decided the Mooncup would be the one to try. OMG why didn’t I try this sooner! A few emptying mishaps but second period of use and my technique is massively improved. I’ve had no leakage and literally forget I’m wearing it. It took a bit for me to work out how short I needed to trim the stem but I got there and glad I persevered. Not for squeamish ladies as it can be a little messy at first. So shocked at how much my tampons were ‘drying me’, I didn’t expect as much to collect in the cup. I’m on a mission to reduce my waste and help towards saving our earth and I can honestly say this is my best eco swap yet!

Still getting to grips with it! I think it will take a few monthly cycles for me to feel totally comfortable with using it but I think it's a great product and it's the way forward with period products if we are to try reduce our impact on the planet.

I had such high hopes. Unfortunately the mooncup made my cycle extremely painful (cramps) Like a pressure and tension constantly while being used, and continued afterwards for a few days. Sitting was very uncomfortable, not due to the position of the cup, but cramping and shooting pains in my womb area. I never really suffer with cramps, just occasional aches for an hour or 2. But with the mooncup I was in allot of pain for the duration of my cycle. Since experiencing all of the above and almost having to seek medical attention, I have read of the dangers of cycle cups due to the suction. The suction can cause damage to you internally. I believed I was buying a safe, eco friendly product. In actual fact they can be extremely dangerous

Hello Louise, thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We’re really sorry to hear about the discomfort and increased cramping that you experienced when using your Mooncup menstrual cup. We can appreciate this being disappointing having had high hopes and understand that you have concerns. It sounds like you have already done so but if not we would recommend that you stop using your Mooncup® for now. From what you have described it sounds as though the Mooncup may have been coming into contact with your cervix during use. The Mooncup is designed to be worn as low in the vagina as it can comfortably sit and it is important that there is a clear space between the cup and your cervix- the two should not be in contact with each other. To remove the Mooncup® it is also always important to first release the seal and keep this released as you remove the Mooncup. This releases any suction for removal. Regarding your concerns about menstrual cup safety- you may find The Lancet study in 2019 helpful: https://www.thelancet.com/journals/lanpub/article/PIIS2468-2667(19)30111-2/fulltext. Moving forwards should you wish to explore this further we would recommend getting in touch with our friendly advice team made up of medical health professionals at advice@mooncup.co.uk and they can talk through any further questions or concerns you may have.
