About Mooncup:

Mooncup began with a clear goal: to give people a healthier, sustainable way to manage their periods.

Back in 2002, we launched the world’s first medical-grade silicone menstrual cup, pioneering a movement that put health and the planet first. We saw an industry where profit came before people, ingredients were hidden, and plastics reigned, so we challenged the status quo.

Now, we're on a mission to become the world’s biggest sustainable period care brand. We’ve just launched Mooncup period pads into Sainsbury’s, Boots, Holland & Barrett and Look Fantastic. We’re also partnering with workplaces, gyms and hotels (like Canva, Danone, Third Space, Gymshark and Claridge’s) to offer free period care in bathrooms.

We use only science-backed, body-safe ingredients because your period products should work with your body, not against it.

my periods are always a nightmare as I have children and I find it so difficult to walk. however, after using this cup, I was able to climb up the tree with them and do lots of fun activities. I wish I knew about this before.

I made to move to a menstrual cup in order to reduce waste from tampons each month and also for my own internal health. I have found the Mooncup great! It is very easy to insert and you can’t feel it at all which is a huge difference from wearing tampons for years and feeling uncomfortable from time to time. It is also very quick and easy to clean which was what I was worried about when I started looking into menstrual cups, but I was worried about nothing :-) I would definitely recommend Mooncup!

I love the Mooncup, it makes having a period so much easier. I would never use anything else.

Wish I had started using it years ago. I may still have to use the odd tampon if I am in a setting where I haven’t got easy access to running water but overall so much better than using tampons. Less waste, no leakage, more comfortable and does not dry out and irritate the vagina.

Just not for me. I'm not sure of my anatomy is different or I'm just an idiot who even after trying for 2 full cycles couldn't get rhe hang of it, but it hurt me. Alot. I could feel it constantly and it hurt.

I really really really want to say I loved this product. I was hoping to reduce my impact on the environment, save money, have a comfortable and hygeinic experience each month, and relate positively to my body. I was excited and optimistic. I tried and tried but I could not use the mooncup comfortably. Inserting and removing was extremely painful. It felt way too big to fit inside me (even though I've had two babies). Forcing it inside hurt and distressed me. It unfolded and kind of pinged open as it went in (and also as it came out). Removing it was messy and my bathroom looked like a murder had happened each time. I never felt comfortable enough to try using it in a public toilet so my life was more limited than usual because of that. I must have spent a good 10 hours googling tips and tricks for comfortable insertion, watching videos and learning all types of different fold techniques. I did persevere and take the time to get used to it. I squirmed and cried my way through three periods using the mooncup and then decided this was not for me and was relieved to return to sanitary towels and tampons. I hope others have better experiences as the ethos behind it is so positive and from the reviews it is obvious that lots of women get on brilliantly with it.

Hello there, Thank you very much for taking the time to leave us a review, although we’re sorry to hear that the A size Mooncup menstrual cup was uncomfortable. We can appreciate this being disappointing. You’ve done the right thing by taking a break from using the Mooncup® and we recommend getting in touch with our friendly Advice Team at advice@moncup.co.uk run by medical health care professionals. They will be able to go through some information and questions with you to see why you may be having this issue, and from there they can provide tailored support to help.
I have used Mooncupe Size B for 10 years, I had to upgrade my old one and turned 30 so went for a Size A. It’s an amazing product and I am so grateful I discovered it in my early twenties as it revolutionised my life!
