“Thankfully didn't need to claim, but did discuss the correlation between all products with Maxim regarding the 'overall rating' versu the claims rating and there is generally a good correlation. For carhire excess I believe it to be: Overall: 4.7 Claim: 4.6. So generally a good overall rating (ie easy to deal with etc) correlates to good performance in claims. For me, though, Id always say look at the claims satisfaction score. All insurance products should be measured on how well they perform in a claim (primarily) and how flexible they are to change (secondly). I know Moneymaxim is actively reviewing the best ways to advise it's clients on all this data.”

“I found out about Carhireexcess.co.uk after checking out Martin Lewis website and as with all things I do, I tend to over research the subject. Spend hours searching for holidays and end up saving a fiver. Anyway I checked out those available and Car hire excess was the best. It should clearly what was covered, it was a fraction of what it would cost to use the car hire company's own insurance and thankfully I have not had to make a claim but felt happy that the product covered me for what was needed. I have no association with this company and would recommend them to you if needing this type of insurance.”
