“All good. We obviously didn’t want to be ripped off at the car hire desk as all major hire companies seem to do so we bought this. To date we have not had to make a claim and hopefully will never need to therefore we cannot comment on the claims process with carhireexcess”

Simon, Thank you for your review, The wording of your review would suggest a rating slightly higher than 3-stars, however I understand your rating of 'average' is mainly because you have not had to claim, and feel you cannot comment. We are confident in the insurance policies offered via our site and that they would deliver in the event you needed to claim, but also hope they offer you the peace of mind when renting cars, that you'd be able to claim back any excess charges! “Happy in the knowledge that I'm covered in the event of any damage to my rental car. Never needed to claim, thankfully, but it's reassuring to have and great to push back on the rental counter staff who tell you that you should take out their cover. Despite what they say your excess insurance policy is valid!”
