“I've bought car hire excess policies from carhireexcess.co.uk several times now and have had to claim against the policies on two separate holidays, for damaga done to the hire car while parked. Both claims have been easy to do and have been handled fairly promptly. I generally choose this site now even though it isn't always the cheapest on comparison sites (though it is usually quite near the top) because I feel it is worth paying a few pence more for the level of cover and the ease of claiming.”

“Low premium of about £11 compared to the highest premium of £150 offered by the car hire company directly. You do have to have £2000 headroom on your credit card as if you do have damage you have to pay the car hire company and claim back. I did suffer damage on this occasion which cost £300 but I recovered the full amount from this cover. Take pictures of the vehicle when you get it and pictures of any damage. Keep all the paperwork !”

“The level of cover was just what I'd been looking for and the cost of cover was very reasonable. A true test of Car Hire Excess will only become apparent when/if a claim is made and so far, thankfully, I've not needed to make one. At the moment I see no reason to look elsewhere.”
