“If you are hiring a car, excess cover insurance from Bettersafe gives you peace of mind and is far cheaper than the amount the Car Hire company would charge you. Bottom line: It's a no brainer as far as I'm concerned.”

If you had to claim how happy were you with the way it was handled?

“I purchased car hire insurance xs from bettersafe using money maxim comparison site. It appeared to fit my needs. We were going to Barcelona on 2nd January 2025, hiring a car and travelling both in France and Spain. Unfortunately on our arrival at our 1st hotel in Barcelona I parked our hire car from Enterprise in an underground car park at 2pm got to our room but realised I had left our SLR camera in the car. I returned to the car to find the rear quarterlight smashed and camera and bag stolen. The Hotel manager helped me get a police report the car park had cameras and the thieves were seen at the car immediately I left. There was a £1500 EURO excess on the hire agreement and that was charged to my card when i exchanged the car. However the total bill was only under 400euros including loss of use as it was a small window. On arrival home after the 16th January I contacted bettersafe and had the claims process explained. Once enterprise had given me my final bill and refund for 1100+ euros i forwarded all documentation to bettersafe , police report , car hire agreement photos of damage, final settlement and they immediately settled my claim including any currency exchange differences. 5 out of 5 for service.”
