“I ordered one of these in August for my Moms Birthday and it was so good that I ordered another, I haven't tasted a cake like this for a long time and I am a professional baker who has made many fruit cakes over the years, sadly most people prefer sponge cakes now. “The cake itself came wrapped in greaseproof paper inside, secured with 's' shaped packaging. The box itself was just a palin brown cardboard box (logo on the lid), but was very strong. Perfect for what I needed. The cake itselft tasted supurb and has been recommened (as stated above)”

I grew up with our mum baking and decorating delicious fruit cakes for all celebrations.
Obviously I thought everyone did the same.
Now, we are celebrating our mums 90th birthday, so rather than trying and failing to replicate mums special cakes, we plumed for a cake from Meg Rivers.
It took me back years, to memories of yesteryear.
Amazing flavours, rich and deep.
Ok, perhaps we would have liked a few glacé cherries in there, but mum’s recipe is obviously secret ❤️
