###What symptoms or conditions can be treated with Lamisil AT 1% Cream?

Lamisil AT 1% Cream can be usedto treat fungal skin infections like athlete's foot (tinea pedis) and dhobie itch/jock itch (tinea cruris). Athlete's foot usually appears on the feet, especially between the toes, causing scaling or cracking of the skin, mild swelling, blisters, or weeping ulcers. Dhobie itch appears in the groin and inner thigh area, which can spread between the legs to the buttocks, or up towards the stomach, appearing like a bordered rash with blisters.

### What is the active ingredient and how does it work?

Lamisil AT 1% Cream contains terbinafine hydrochloride as the active ingredient, which is an antifungal agent used to treat skin infections caused by fungi. Terbinafine hydrochloride works by inhibiting the production of ergosterol, a component of the fungal cell membrane, resulting in cell death and preventing the growth and spread of the fungi causing the infection.

###How do I use Lamisil AT 1% Cream?

For athlete's foot and dhobie itch, apply the cream once a day for one week. Cleanse and dry the affected areas thoroughly before applying the cream in a thin layer, and gently rub it in. If used between the toes, buttocks or on the groin, the treated area may be covered with a light, fresh gauze strip, especially at night. Wash your hands and replace the cap on the tube after use.

###What are the possible side effects of Lamisil AT 1% Cream?

Like all medications, Lamisil AT 1% Cream can cause side effects, although not everyone will experience them. Common side effects include skin peeling and itching, while uncommon side effects include skin lesions, scabs, skin colour changes, redness, burning, pain and irritation at the site of application. Rare side effects include eye irritation, dry skin, contact dermatitis, and worsening of symptoms. Seek medical help immediately if you experience difficulty breathing or swallowing, swelling of the mouth, face, lips, tongue or throat, or severe itching of the skin, with a red rash or raised lumps, hives or blisters.

###Is Lamisil AT 1% Cream safe for children?

The cream is not recommended for use on children under 16 years of age.

###What should I do if I accidentally swallow Lamisil AT 1% Cream?

Contact your doctor or nearest hospital emergency department if you, or someone else, has swallowed some cream. Take any remaining medicine and this leaflet with you if possible. Symptoms of accidental ingestion include headache, nausea (feeling sick), dizziness and stomach pain.
