It's a great session concertina and can hold its own with the best of them.A Quality Anglo Concertina At A Reasonable PriceIn general, anglo concertinas are very expensive instruments to buy, especially for beginner players and advanced beginner player. I wanted to fill the gap in this market. The New Swan does just that: making it affordable for players to advance. I can confidently say that this concertina is the best of its kind at this price range. Not only is The Swan durable, but as the reeds are "exercised", it will actually improve with age.The Best Resale ValueStudents usually play this concertina for 3-5 years and then trade it in and upgrade to a more expensive concertina. Great little concertina! The finish of the bellows leaves a bit to be desired but at the price its not that surprising. Would definitely recommend this for others to buy.

Early days and I'm a relative newcomer to the concertina. I've found this model comfortable in my big hands, although the metal corners are a little sharp. I'm breaking it in gently and the reed sounds are evening out. The smell of leather is a bonus I'll follow up in 6 months with a more comprehensive review.

Great concertina. After struggling with a cheap instrument for a while I went for this one. Reading the reviews settled my mind, that I was buying a quality instrument. Happy to say it was the right choice. Although still classed as a beginner instrument it is so much easier to play and the sound so much better. This is a great encouragement along with the online lessons that allow you to replay as much as you need. Although not cheap, if you want to learn the concertina and do so using a quality instrument, I couldn't recommend the Swan more!

BIRTHDAY PRESENT SUCCESS I purchased the Swan 30 as a gift for my wife, she had been wanting a concertina to learn how to play. The instrument itself is gorgeous and she has been practicing and it sounds beautiful. The shipping and customer service were top notch and quick, the instrument arrived well wrapped and protected. Can't wait to keep doing business with McNeela.

I had three or four concrtinas before. They all had an accordion sound, but not this one. I now have a concerina that sounds like a concertina. Even if I wouldn't learn to play, I would still keep it becouse of it's wonderful sound.

Review from a concertina newby Bought this as my first dive into a bellows powered instrument. Wanting to stay away from the bottom tier Chinese made instruments, and considering the price for other concertinas seen on the net, the Swan seemed reasonable as a better than base level instrument to start on without breaking the bank. Not having played any other "accordian" type instrument before, I cannot speak to the layout, ease for pressing buttons, moving the bellows, etc., but I am enjoying my very slow learning curve into the world of pushing and pulling the bellows while pressing buttons in sync to get a semblance of a tune out of my Swan. Shipping to Texas (USA) took 10 days as advertised. Overall, I am satisfied with my purchase.

Great beginner concertina I love the Swan 30 button Anglo Concertina I bought from McNeela. Sounds great and has me already able to play quite a bit despite starting as a complete beginner. Very glad I went with a 30 button model from the start as I already need those accidentals. This concertina was just the right purchase to make sure that I'll never outgrow it but didn't overpay for an instrument that's nicer than I'll ever need as an amateur.
