The pack includes:
1 x 16" (depth approx. 4") plywood rim - unstained and unvarnished.
Cross bar
1 x 20" top quality goatskin.
1 x beater.
Webbing 56" long.
12 studs.
Elastic band.

We also highly recommend adding to cart our new bodhrán cream, DrumDiddly, as a luxurious finishing touch for the goatskin. This cream contains beeswax and lanolin and guarantees to deepen the bass tone on the bodhrán and extend the life of the skin.

“A few weeks ago I purchased the D.I.Y. Bodhran Kit from McNeela Instruments. This was the first time I had done any business with them. They are in Ireland and I am located in the United States of America. McNeela has a wonderful web site with lots of helpful Youtube videos. The Bodhran kit took a little longer than ten days to arrive. I had ordered it during the height of the Christmas season so shipping may have taken a little longer than normal. The kit arrived in fine condition and I was pleasamtly surprised at the quality of the kit components. I would say that the kit was "first rate". McNeela included an excellent set of written instructions with the kit. The written instructions along with the Youtube video made putting the kit together a wonderful experience. I decided not to use the wrap they had sent with the kit for securing the skin to the drum shell while the skin is glued and drying to the drum shell. Instead I purchased some 1 inch wide elastic banding from my local store. Learning to play the Bodhran takes more time than putting the kit together.......but I am practicing it everyday. “I had a great time making this and now playing it. I had to take off the back brace because it was not connected well and I didn't want to try drilling into the rim. My only suggestion would be to go back to the flat rubber the round kept slipping off”
