Good overall. Little out of tune.

I have a $150 whistle, but this Dixon became my main whistle for learning, training, traveling, sessioning and recording. It's accurate, responsive, and forgiving. I don't need any other whistle. Did I drink some coffee before playing? No problem. I just put it under the faucet for a second, and it's clean. Using a black polyethylene foam ring I found in some packaging as a silencer, I can play it in any environment at any time.

A very good whistle, with a warm and round tone without losing the purity of sound. It's the best entry level whistle you can find for three reasons: great quality, easy to mantain and a fair price. Perfect for beginners, good for intermediate too, I really like this whistle

Being very much a beginner so far as Whistles are concerned, to give feedback on playability etc would be premature, however, I have been impressed with value for money, rapid delivery time,[Queensland, Australia], and after sales follow up. Very happy.

I have recently started learning Irish music and I ordered this whistle to replace the old tin whistle that I have been using which I have had since primary school (over ten years ago). I don’t know what I was expecting from a plastic whistle but for me it feels too much like a kids toy that comes in a magazine or toy shop. I partially blame myself for this as I did not do enough research before buying this whistle. The sound is quite good but I struggle with getting a strong low D and it is not as authentic feeling as a whistle made from tin. I would personally advise buying one of McNeela’s whistles made from tin instead. As a final note, McNeela are a reputable, great quality brand for buying instruments and I would still highly recommend them. Delivery was very quick and the website is very detailed to help you make the right choice for your budget and needs

Quick delivery and makes a lovely sweeter sound than a tin whistle. Looks very slick and comfortable to play!
