This double ribbed bodhran beater is weighted at both ends and gives great control to the stroke of the bodhran. It is double ribbed for a better grip. It is 210mm (8.25") long. There are a lot of different shapes of beaters and most bodhran players have a variety of beaters. The type you use is all down to personal preference

“Beautiful little tipper that fits well in my smaller hands. Not as heavy as the fiddle bow but the weighed ends make playing feel much more natural. If you're a beginner like me with smaller hands interested in a pretty tipper for double ended play and ease, this is a great option. The grain is beautiful, the decorative notching very sharp and ends both carved evenly. The grip is well aligned for where I personally hold my tipper but be mindful it may feel unbalanced if you hold yours more near the middle.”

“Good quality, very heavy This is really lovely but... This will sound really silly because it's called a weighted beater- it's actually really heavy and the ends are quite big and round and I struggle to use it. Just something to keep in mind if you are a small person with weak wrists and a beginner like myself! If you are strong enough to use it then it probably sounds deep and very nice!”
