Product is excellent. Best tasting green curry paste I have found available especially as it is suitable for vegans

This is, hands down, the most delicious curry paste I have ever eaten. I have eaten a lot of different ones, have made my own, have been to thailand but this, this is exceptional. Fresh, spicy, you can taste all the complex flavours and the instructions are super simple. I'm vegan, so have enjoyed this with air-fried Aubergine and with Tofu, and it is just delicious. Truly amazing, I would easily give these as gifts because they are really very very good. This is spicy, if you are still training your spicy level, be careful. If you love spicy, this is perfect.

I have eaten and cooked green curry's from restaurants for over 25 years, but this was a level of heat I had not experienced before and was inedible. This is a shame as I have been looking for a vegan alternative to normal green curries.

Hello David, this is the poorest review we have had since I started the business, which was always going to come as a shock, but I thank you nonetheless for reaching out to me. I am of course sorry for your experience. I'm Thai, and have lived in the UK for 30 years, and in that time I have not found an authentic southern green curry paste. I know exactly what it should taste like, which is why many Thai restaurants now buy from us. What you have received is what I've been brought up with, so for that, I make no apology. That said, I run taster samples at my local market every weekend, and green curry is a firm favourite having also won the Great Taste Awards in 2020. This leads me to think that perhaps you may have used more of the paste than the instructions recommend. Unlike many other pastes, I have insisted on using the very best herbs and spices, but more importantly, just the part of the plant with the most flavour/goodness. Others often bulk-out the paste with parts of the plant that you would ordinarily throw away. That means that a pack of 70g, is enough for 6-8 people. If more is used than necessary then the heat will indeed be much more pronounced, for some people that's fine, but for others, it would be too hot; that I do acknowledge. If you use less, you will still get the depth of flavour you expect, but with less heat. Adding some palm sugar and using good quality full-fat coconut milk all help to achieve the correct balance. Kind regards. Jum PS. If you did use more than recommended, then please do try it again. If it remains inedible, then I would be happy to refund your purchase. Please email me directly on our website, or reply to this post.

This Mae Jum green curry paste is very tasty - spicy and aromatic with just the right amount of kick. The paste is vegan - you can trick it up with shrimp paste and fish sauce for a chicken curry or just add lime leaves, sugar and soy sauce to the curry paste and coconut milk for a delicious vegan version. I like to use waxy potatoes, aubergine and green beans in my vegan curry.
