I was a bit concerned with previous reviews saying that grub screws were difficult to fit, but this is not a problem as they don’t have to be fully removed to fit the lamp to the base. The rear cable entry does limit the application.”

“Having just fixed the light, it appears to be a good quality product. The cable entry point is at the rear of the unit, which may limit where people can fix the light - in addition, I had a limited cable length and it made fixing a little difficult. The sensors offer a range of options and were fine for me. Delivery was prompt and the packaging was of good quality.”

“Prompt delivery and sensibly packaged by Lighting Direct. Competitively priced. The Lutec Shrimp is a well engineered light. Installation was fairly straightforward. The instruction booklet is more a series of diagrams rather a descriptive text but is adequate. The first problem is the feed of the wire out of the back of the light. It is contained within the “footprint” of the light on the wall which does assume that you will be drilling through the wall behind the light. I would imagine that in the majority of installations the wire will be rooted to another point where the wall will be drilled to feed the wire through. The only solution was to make a notch in the baseplate to prevent the wire being crushed as the baseplate is secured. There is no mention of the fuse size(3amp is best to protect the circuit). The light has two Allan key grub screws to secure it to the baseplate which need to be caught in the threads before locating it on the baseplate. Setting up the light was very easy with just two slide switches. The light level is quite good. I would imagine the the 3min / M or H would suit most cases. Overall a good quality light, reasonably easy to install. Thank you Lighting Direct......I’ll be back!”
