“It is a great device to help with motability. And the fact that it is indeed hands free is such a bonus, when carrying things. I could cook and do other chores, I just couldn't do using elbow crutches. I would definitely recommend it. Customer service was great, I could speak to a friendly human. The device was easy to assembled and my husband thought it was strong and offered secure support.”
“This has been a game changer for someone like me who lives alone in a first floor flat and was struggling to do much to look after myself or keep my flat tidy when I was using crutches. The freedom to be able to use my hands has been amazing. It's now so much easier (and less taxing on my healthy leg and arms) to prepare food for myself, tidy up my flat so I have a nicer environment around me (especially since I'm spending so much time at home due to my injury) and even go out on a couple of occasions for small errands nearby (corner shop, post office etc). Realistically, it's not like I'm going to go on long hikes in the countryside with this (my knee and and upper thigh on the injured side would get too sore), but for moving around my flat, up and down the stairs to the ground floor of my building (one of the main reasons i preferred the iWalk to a scooter-type knee walker) and short walking distances nearby (or walking to the bus stop near me and hopping on the bus to go a bit further away), it's been amazing. It was a bit of an investment for me given the price, but one I'm glad I made, given that I bought it with another 6 weeks of non-weight bearing to go in front of me (and having already suffered through 6 weeks of non-weight bearing with crutches, which I didn't want to go through again).”
“I ordered the hands free crutch after I ruptured my Achilles' tendon and was in a plaster cast using regular crutches. I have to say it completely changed my rehab process. I hated feeling so debilitated - not being able to make a cup of tea and walk it back to the sofa, relying on my flatmate to help me hang my washing, cook dinner, hoover the flat etc (not to mention how exhausting and painful it is to haul yourself around all day on normal crutches.) The hands free crutch solved ALL of those problems for me and gave me my independence back. It's so comfy and easy to use too- worth every penny.I can't recommend highly enough!!”

“This is an absolute godsend if you want your independence. I had a pre planned operation on my heel bone and Achilles on wednesday and started using this from friday. It has taken a couple of days to gain confidence using it outside, but I can do everything that I usually do just at a much slower pace. Took a few times to master the stairs, and doorsteps. As a female long distance runner I do have strong legs but I would not use it for long periods at a time as it does start to get heavy and tiring, and the hard cast rubs into the shin bone, but this has been eased by using the wedge to lift the knee that comes in the box. However this would not put me off buying or using it, infact I am still using it, and have progressed to a 15 minute dog walk, because those small minor issues outweigh what a great product it is. I would without doubt recommend and my son who was sceptical at first is coming around to how great it is.
UPDATE: I am now at week 4 and have been in an air boot for 3 weeks. Although I can walk in the boot for short distances, I still use the iwalk for longer distances and when I need to rest my foot. I have been given a 12 month slow recovery, full weight bearing time frame and I think I will be using this on and off for a few months yet.”
