About Kidvelo Bikes:

Kidvelo® Bikes is an exciting new brand launched in 2021, specialising in manufacturing kids' balance bikes, some which convert to lightweight pedal bikes. The founders are from two family businesses; the former official Strider Distributors, based in Australia and the UK. We had clear ideas born from 14 years of teaching children to ride, distributing thousands of balance bikes and listening to customers.

“A fantasic bike for toddlers learning to cycle! Our little one started out on a small balance bike but was ready for an upgrade. All bikes with optional stabalisers were far too heavy and difficult to ride for his size and age. The Rookie 14 is so incredibly lightweight, he transitioned seamlessly. Very easy to assemble, though the breaks take a bit of effort. The lightweight design is ideal for us parents too as very easy to carry and store. I couldn't recommend enough!”

“I have to say, having purchased the Rookie 14 for my daughter’s second bike has been a game changer. The bike itself is very well thought out, built really well, comfortable, and the best of all, we can add pedals and a chain when we are ready, which is brilliant. The build quality is fantastic as well as the emails you get along the way to offer help and guidance on the build and little idea to help get your kids excited about riding. I really believe that Kidvelo as a company, have little riders in their best interests and it shows. Very happy and so is my daughter, who is asking to go on her bike now, which is awesome. Thanks Kidvelo team :)”

“Our oldest has been flying around on his old balance bike and we felt it was time to upgrade. We weren’t disappointed and our son loves it. Took him less than 10 minutes to get to grips with the pedals and he was off. Amazing first proper bike.”

“My 3 year old love love loves this bike and rides it at every opportunity. Never having assembled a bike before, I didn't find it the easiest so was grateful for the more detailed setup video (on top of the paper instruction booklet). I struggled to sort out the brake, emailed Kidvelo, and Karen couldn't have been more helpful advising what I needed to do from a photo I sent. Changing from balance bike to pedals only took 10 mins and was very straightforward. I love the fact that everything is adjustable - for example my little one couldn't pull the brake levers but they can be adjusted so she now can.”

“Brilliant bike, light enough to manoeuvre but not too light so as to be jumpy for the learner. So good that it has brakes for balance bike, which is rare.”

“Perfect - my 4 year old was ready to pedal but liked her balance bike too much, despite it being far too small. The Rookie 14 was a great bike for her as she got to build up her confidence on a larger bike in balance format and within 2 months she asked for the pedals to go on. We put the pedals on and she literally just rode off without a second thought :)”
