The set up instructions were clear.
The picture quality is good on the HD channels.
I was impressed by the range of features on the box and the built in Apps, little disappointed that it doesn’t support Amazon Prime.
The remote control has an excellent range, though the pause and fast wind controls could be more obvious by touch.
Problems were the box took too long to respond to the remote, the recordings UI needs a lot of work to be a simple as a Sky box. The HDD is noisy and causes the box to buzz occasionally.”
“This box is slower and not as good as my last Humax box. It records and if something else is on that recording line it will not let you watch the end of the program. Also it does not put your recordings into files like the last one did. Finally the iPlayer doesn’t give you the option to see live or guide like you can online. Still a lot of work to do Humax, the annoying thing is these were all there before.”

“did not work properly, Humax arranged to collect but did not tell me or the driver who called the address, they sent driver again on 1-2-19 but nothing happened, I have emailed them several times without reply and now they are blocking my emails. No sign of a refund, are they just another bunch of scam merchants? Company motto seems to be 'the customer is always right unless he is due a refund for faulty goods'”
“I have been using an elderly Humax system for a while, and felt the need to get Freeview Play. I didn't think twice about going Humax again as I've been delighted with the old unit (which is now in use in another room). In the main I'm delighted with the new one. As there are so many more features it's not quite so simple to navigate, but that is to be expected. I'm really delighted with the functionality. My only criticism is the standby and record lights are actually under the unit rather than on the front, which makes it quite hard to make out its status at any time. The service from Humax Direct was excellent. The unit was delivered the day after order, at no charge, and the carrier communicated with me to the nearest hour when it would arrive, and stuck to that. Well done, Humax!”
