Very easy to use and set up I would recommend this player , but make certain you have a strong signal on your aerial.

Firstly The Live TV app is advertised as capable of remote recording. I really wanted this feature as I had had it with Freesat previously. The app is unstable and when working it will only work on the house wifi. Hardly remote. The fast forward facility is clumsy. I would prefer a single key to move forward 30 secs would be much better. Otherwise pretty good.

This was bought for my 83 year old Mother to replace an old Sony HDD Dvd player and she has found it a lot easier to use and record programmes and series. So an excellent buy and highly recommended.

I've had a Humax Freeview recorder for years (supplied by BT originally). I had high hopes for an updated model from Humax. Having given it a few weeks to get used to it here are my thoughts. On the plus side it is quicker to boot up, has more storage, and can link to my home network by wifi. On the negative side I don't find the new user interface as easy to use as the previous version. We seem to have lost the convenient way to click forward a day at a time when programming from the programme guide. When watching a programme the previous version could step forward one minute at a time (ideal for skipping the adverts!). You now have to go through the adverts at a faster speed and so it takes longer or you crash into the next segment of your programme and then have to reverse up. Overall I'm disappointed I'm sorry to say.

Taking a little time to acclimatise to the this version, but appears to have some good features.
