easy to set up, very pleased with how responsive it is compared to my old humax. Very reliable so far! I like the fact you are given the option of setting programmes to record when they are being trailed. The fact that series are put into folders when recorded is good if you want to keep the series - but if you watch and delete them as you go along, the folder stays on your list empty unless you can be bothered to delete it as well..... not such a big issue though given all the good things this model does and at an amazing price.

1) The machine takes too long to boot up. 2) The machine appears NOT to allow the TV to be watched independently of the DVR. These are the two biggest drawbacks. 3) The instruction booklet is very very inadequate therefore there are a number of things that I do not know how to do (such as cancelling a series which I started to record but did not find very interesting). The function of 'folders' was not clear, but then I worked out that they were meant to contain all the recordings in a series.

Great machine, does what it says and unlike others ( and i have had 5 other makes) it is straight forward to use. Well, apart from the library of recordings. This takes a bit of time to get used to but i still give the machine 5 stars. The library has the list of recordings, but when their is a series recorded some appear in an 'upper folder' and some don't. They don't show if they have been seen before or not, other makes of recorder do show that, and when it comes to delete a recording you have to go into the OPT+ button. Other makes use the red button. As i say, fantastic machine and once you get used to these things it's easy to use. It's like comparing a Peugeot to an Audi, this is the Audi. Once you drive an Audi you won't go back to a Peugeot

Excellent HD & SD HDD Freeview recorder. Can record two different channels and watch a third different channel all at the same time. There are some issues for which it loses a star. 1) There is no facility to clean up recordings to remove surplus parts, eg adverts. 2) The unit has to be switched on for the LAN interface to work, so it's not possible to view recordings via my home network without physically going to the machine and switching it on. 3) It takes a very long time to wake up when switched on.
