Humax HDR-2000T 500GB Freeview HD Recorder Reviews

3.9 Rating 34 Reviews
Installed in no time at all, and does everything I require of it. It is very easy to navigate. Comes with a comprehensive range of facilities. Provided it proves to be reliable the Humax should be a big money saver in comparison to a media-provided recorder subject to frequent rental increases.

Bought this Humax as a replacement for an old one which kept letting me down. I am delighted with the new one -easy to set up and works very well. I like the screen displays, the guide, etc. A handy feature is the USB port which allows me to show my photos on the TV screen. Well worth the modest price,

Brilliant piece of equipment, easy to install and easy for the consumer to understand the operation. Humax is now the only manufacturer of Freeview or Freesat boxes that I work with.

Works. OK but disappointed with noise from fan when Humax is in standby and TV switched off

Really pleased. Bought to replace our old one that has served us well but was becoming very slow and jittery. We should have upgraded ages ago as this one is so much better!

Excellent recorder, easy to set up and use, just a bit noisy when recording two channels at the same time.

The machine makes a chuntering noise which is sometimes audible above watching a TV programme. The advice received was that it was probably the hard drive and to let them know if it got worse. Other than that, it is simple to use and does the job. I wouldn't buy it again myself or advise anyone else to get one because of the noise issue.

Slower to start than advertised and can be temperamental - it once started with a general pink hue over the screen, which took a lot of fiddling to remedy. TV Portal hasn't much worthwhile to offer and is also temperamental. No ITV, Channel 4 or UKTV players (better off casting from phone). Should have just renewed my older make rather than being taken in by the slick advertising for this.
