The play/pause keys on my original remote became "sticky" after about 3 years, needing to be pressed repeatedly and firmly to do anything. I disassembled it and found some sort of sticky fluid under the rubber membrane (nor sure how it could of got there so assuming the rubber might be dissolving). Could have bought a "compatible" remote from Amazon at half the price, but decided to stick with the Humax brand to save hassle. Will hopefully get at least another 3 years out of this one.

Basically the same controls as the four year old remote that it's replacing, but better quality and hopefully will last a bit longer. No complaints so far :-)

Why do you think I recently bought a Humax - It was bought in January 2018. It is without doubt the most annoying piece of electronic equipment I have ever bought. Why - at the outset it kept going wrong and had to be replaced. I had to get the TV engineer who sold it to me called out 5 times to sort problems out - I hasten to add two of these were my fault. It consistently misses films I have recorded or fails to record the second half of a movie. I am aware that I do have to check it has recorded the whole of a movie, it confirms it has and then does not. I have other TVs at home and I do not have the problem of when trying to say, change a channel I have problems trying to locate the "Eye" as I call it, Sometimes it seems to be to the right and other at the front. My other sets you just point the remote at the tv and it does what is wanted. You might ask why I have not thrown this Humax out of the window, the reason is, it is the only system that I can find that is capable of recording a number of films/programs at the same time over the course of a day. I would also comment that your support team in NI can be sometimes short in patience when dealing with a query - they may be the expert but need patience with those who are not and are trying to understand what has gone wrong or what I may be doing wrong. I would hope some of my frustrated comment are of some help
