Originally designed to comply with British knife laws, the Spyderco UK Penknife has developed a cult following among pocketknife enthusiasts worldwide.
The original SLIPIT model, it combines one-hand opening via the Spyderco Trademark Round Hole with the convenience and accessibility of clip carry.
The Spyderco UK Penknife Lightweight Dark Blue CPM SPY27 showcases a full-flat-ground blade crafted from CPM SPY27, a cobalt-enriched particle metallurgy stainless steel developed specifically for Spyderco.
The blade is complemented by fiberglass-reinforced-nylon (FRN) handle scales moulded in a distinctive cobalt blue that is one of the signature colours of the family of knives featuring this proprietary steel.

Excellent quality knife, very well made, Brilliant ergonomics, the blade is perfectly aligned, FRN scales feel quite good, I would probably state that it is a bit expensive for what it is, the Steel performs reasonably well, however for everyday EDC use I'd recommend buying on of the cheaper steels, very unlikely you'd notice the difference.Customer service has been impeccable, I called various time for product advice and they have been brilliant, one of the best companies I've dealt with.

I really love this knife, it is very light . and the fit and finish are excellent. The exotic steel used in the blade is very , very sharp straight out of the box and retains this edge during use .The two positive detents help to retain the blade in the open position when in use. For me ,this is a perfect EDC knife of great utility and is a pleasure to use and own.

I bought this legal uk model as I love the spyderco brand. I've owned mine for about two years & have recently upgraded the scales. The blade came extremely sharp, paper slicing sharp, so I'd advise keeping those fingers clear when using this knife. After two years of ownership the blade is still extremely sharp, which says a lot about the quality of the materials used in this knife. It's classed as uk legal ?, but from the tip of the blade to the pivot it's just over 3" & with changes in uk laws this lovely little knife could become illegal to carry.

I recently picked up the Spyderco SPY27, and while there are things I appreciate about it, I'm not entirely convinced it justifies the £100 price tag.First off, the FRN handle makes the knife feel incredibly lightweight, which is nice for carry. But that same material also gives it a somewhat cheap feeling in hand—definitely not the solid or premium impression I'd expect at this price point. When I compare it directly to my Boker Plus XS, the differences are clear. The Boker feels more premium overall, and the ergonomics are noticeably better. The Spyderco, while functional, doesn't quite melt into the hand in the same way, and that's something I value in a knife I plan to use often.Another big factor for me is the fidget factor—how satisfying it is to open, close, and generally play around with the action. Unfortunately, the Spyderco doesn't really scratch that itch. It works, sure, but it doesn't have that addictive smoothness or satisfying snap that some other knives in my collection do.All in all, the Spyderco SPY27 feels like a well-made tool, but for £100, I expected more refinement in both ergonomics and user experience. If lightweight carry is your top priority, it might be a solid choice. But if you're looking for premium feel or fidget factor, there are better options out there.

This is a beautifully made knife and of great quality as one would expect from Spyderco and, yes, it is legal - just. My concern with it is that, if carried, it skates so close to the law that it would be hard to convince a police officer that it is legal, even though, by a tiny amount it is lengthwise (and of course non-locking which is not an issue at all). The upshot of this is that I have found myself having bought something that I don't feel I am comfortable with using as an EDC and feel the need to pack in the bottom of my pack just as if I had bought a locking knife and had a "specific reason" for carrying. As I bought it specifically as a UK legal knife I find myself having spent good money not satisfied my requirement to not only b legal but paper to be legal in terms of ownership and use.

I already own the Spyderco urban Heinnie edition and missed out on the UKPK a few years back, however, I absolutely love this Spy27 version. The urban is a better size for edc but the spy27 ukpk is, out of the box, a better size for the hand and razor sharp. I really like this steel and the blade angle. It's zazor sharp precision and excellent build quality. Definitely in my top 3 favourite knives. As always Heinnie service was great.

This is the first time I've ordered on Heinnie Haynes and I am more than happy. I ordered this knife yesterday morning and it was shipped and delivered to GERMANY in 1 1/2 days? How is that even possible? I can wholeheartedly recommend Heinnie Haynes and this knife. The UKPK is one of the very few knifes that I can legally carry in Germany. Spyderco's CPM SPY-27 is a really good balanced steel in terms of toughness, corrosion resistance and edge retention. It comes sharper than a carolina reaper. It makes for a perfect edc which you barely notice at all in your pockets. If you're on the "edge" (hah) about buying this knife, you won't regret it.

Spyderco have done it again. They have produced another rendering of the UKPK using CPM27 steel encased in cobalt blue FRN scales, what's not to like. The well trusted ergonomics of the grip and the quintessential Spyderco blade hole for one handed opening. This knife is sublime and makes a great addition to any knife owners collection. All this delivered with the customer service that HH have become renowned for.
