Read Heinnie Haynes Reviews

BPS Knives are a family run business based in Ukraine. They produce an impressive range of bushcraft and hunting knives that are made to be used in the outdoors. There are no unnecessary embellishments or decorations just supremely sharp blades and hard wearing handles!
The BPS HK5 Bushcraft Carbon uses 1066 carbon steel honed to an incredible edge with a traditional Scandi grind. Formed and balanced to be an all-rounder for skinning, fire and food prep and more it has a generously sized handle with finger grooves that provide a seriously good grip even in the wet.
The handle is made up of two slabs of walnut wood screwed firmly to the tang with a lanyard hole to make the knife your own. It is supplied with a very high quality leather belt sheath.

I wanted this to be a great budget knife but my example has a very easily damaged edge. Despite it's size you couldn't use it for any light battening of fire wood. In fact, every cutting task so far has resulted in flat spots and dulling of the edge. I'm comparing it to budget Mora and possibly the grind is part of the problem.

An excellent knife for the money. With a full tang and made from good quality carbon steel; razor sharp straight out of the box! Obviously the finish is not quite as good as that found on knives costing £100+ but a good finish can be achieved with very little work. The quality of the sheath alone is very impressive - very well made and using good quality thick leather - one could easily pay £35+ for a sheath of this quality! In my opinion every bushcraft enthusiast should have one of these knives but maybe I'm being a little biased since my father was Ukrainian! ???:-*:-*:-*:-*:-*

Another BPS to my collection, Same style sheath but black. Some unfinished raw edges on the blade but these can be addressed. The handle is very narrow, I have a bigger hand than most so perhaps I'm being picky. overall an unbeatable knife for the money.

2 Months update, used for all out door tasks from the dreading battioning to a little meat prep and the edge when touched up (I always use ceramic) comes back to razor. Previous reviewer sounds like used a carbide pull though- STAY away they remove so much material and damage the edge, great for emergency of getting rid of chips but for sharpening -NO You get a hek of the lot for your money

A good value knife especially for anyone who likes to improve things. The handle is not fully finished so needs a rub down with glass paper plus a coat of Tung Oil. The sheath is 3mm leather which benefits from a coat of Paul Dore beeswax finish or similar.Overall a fabulous low cost tool. I must buy another from BPS

Less than £40 to your door! carbon steel and walnut handle in a proper leather sheath, superbly made despite the pressure their currently under. I cannot see how they make it ship it and heinnies sell for this price. It really is a great all rounder and did I mention its a steel at that price.
