A really terrible product. First the pipette is glass, so it cannot go directly onto a pet’s mouth. It also leaked badly. So when you have the dosage in the pipette, it flowed out like water, the most useless thing ever. So you are there fussing with another dropper. As for the tincture, I have tasted it and it does taste sweet. Maybe dogs like this, cats have no sweet taste buds in their mouth and it is really glucose and syrupy. Once opened it has to be kept in the fridge. As humans this is a texture and a temperature, we are all used but to an animal it is not. There were no warnings on the box or a leaflet inside. I thought I had done my due diligence to find a product suitable for my pet and I got sold this one big time by Healthful Pets, over the phone. I did try at first to put the dose in my pets food, hiding it as we all do, but she was having none of it! So I had to give it to her by mouth. By now the product had been kept in the fridge, which was what I was advised on the box. When I gave my Pet the product by mouth, she immediately had difficulty breathing and it looked like asthma which she does not have. She then threw up immediately went back to the asthma type symptoms, not being able to breathe and threw up again. I have never seen such a violent reaction before in an animal and I thought she was having a stroke. I then had to find an out of hours vet. Once there I was told cats can have gastrointestinal problems including nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea from milk thistle. No warnings did I see anywhere. When I contacted the company that makes this product, I was told there were on their website, which is North American. I still couldn’t tell you if it’s Canadian or American because even that information was conflicting, depending on who I spoke to. I explained, I had purchased this product in the UK and we do leaflets and warnings here in print. Customer service was really very shoddy and unhelpful, both with the manufacturer and the woman who sold me this product at Healthful Pets. Instead of helping or offering support, she immediately became defensive. I also said the F word as an adjective in my frustration to describe the product, when she went off on one about my language then, I did call her a name and hung up the phone. Absolutely useless, both the product and customer service, I would stay well, clear!

Hi Fiona, Thank you for taking the time to leave us this review, and I'm sorry that you did not find the Adored Beast Liver Tonic suitable for your cat's needs. I'm sorry to hear that your cat had a bad reaction to administering this product — this was not something you made me aware of over the phone, and I hope she has made a full recovery. I would have been happy to speak to the manufacturers on your behalf about this, we value any feedback on our products, and this is an unusual reaction to a product we have sold successfully for a number of years. Unfortunately, as you did not mention this at the time, this was not something I was able to investigate further for you. The sweet taste of this tincture comes from the organic vegetable glycerine base. This is used as the base for this product as an alternative to an alcohol tincture, as it is more palatable and can be considered gentler on the liver. We signposted you towards this product as a palatable option based on the positive feedback we have received from other customers. We have overwhelmingly positive reviews (4.9/5 stars) with many commenting on this product's palatability; however, all pets are individuals, and cats in particular can be fussy. As advised on our product page and on the packaging of this product, if animal’s condition worsens or does not improve, it is recommended to discontinue use and consult your veterinarian as you did. While it is uncommon, it is entirely possible that your pet may have a sensitivity to the herbs used, or the glycerine base. As with all herbs and supplements, there is no way to know if yourself or your pet has a sensitivity to any ingredient or product until it is tried. Regretfully, we were unable to resolve this issue over the phone. You ended the call after I asked you to please refrain from being aggressive towards me while I was trying to navigate this issue with you. We do not tolerate abusive language towards our staff, and I wish you all the best in finding a suitable product for your cat’s needs. Kind regards, Ellie Healthful Pets

Easy to see amount on dropper. My dog doesn’t have any problems eating her food when it’s mixed with it. Hopefully it’s helping her

This has been amazing. My old Cairn Oscar has been diagnosed with a heart tremor and enlarged liver. I've had him on milkthistle drops but then Adored Beast was suggested because he was still off his food and had been vomitting. Within four days of twice daily doses, Oscar's appetite came back. He began to wolf his food down; his stools firmed up and even a poorly eye improved which needs constant attention due to neglect following the removal of a benign tumour from his upper lid, there has been virtually no need to clean away mucus and slime. He is clawing at me for food, something a few weeks ago he had no interest in (and my Oscar never turned down food!) This should be part of every dog owners cabinet for elderly pooches with dodgy livers. It's because of this he will not need any powerful drugs with side effects from the vets.
