I bought these Evolution boots when in a flash sale, so for the price paid they were extremely good value. They look and feel high quality. The toe area is a slightly more square shape than the Kratos boots I already have so a perfect fit from the box, the extra ankle height gives a good grip which should make them ideal for rougher terrains. Not covered much distance yet, so five stars assuming that the durability is as good as generally reported for this boot and others in the Grisport range.

Perfect fit and didn’t need breaking in for long dog walks. Feet have stayed dry during down pours. Easy to clean and keep looking good. We do some serious walking with the dog - so only time will tell how they weather.

I bought these boots to replace my 23 year old Meindls which had finally given up the ghost but I couldn't justify the cost of replacing like for like. The Evolutions were half the price of Meindls. I needed a high fit to support a weak ankle joint and I do most of my walking in the south of England where it isn't very mountainous but I occasionally visit the Peaks and Lakes so I did want something tough enough to cope with the occasional fell wallking along established paths and I rarely exceed 10 miles on a walk. These boots are more than adequate for this sort of distance and terrain. And they look good too! I drew up quite a long short-list from the Grisport website. It was difficult to tell some of their models apart but when I phoned customer services they were very helpful in whittling the choices down to this model so don't hesitate to call them if you aren't sure what to buy. The boots were very comfortable from day one. Good job because the initial 5-mile walk turned out to be an 8-mile walk. So no significant breaking-in was required although the higher part of the the left ankle still rubs and needs some moulding to my leg shape which I'm sure will improve over time. The Evolutions weigh almost 600g less than my old Meindls. That doesn't sound significant but it is. My feet now feel almost as light as air in comparison. The soles are flexible whereas the Meindls were stiff, so if you want something that will take a crampon or if you just prefer a stiff sole for climbing then perhaps look at a different model. I thoroughly recommend these boots (at least for the sort of walking that I do) and I also give due praise to Grisport UK's customer services helpline for their assistance. The photo was taken after my first walk in the boots showing the dust from the Meon Valley Trail.
