A Christmas Eve classic. Our gammon has been dry-cured and smoked by our Somerset butchers, resulting in the most deliciously sweet and tender meat. Cut from the hind leg, this joint is succulent and packed with flavour. Our gammon is made with 100% British pork from outdoor-reared pigs. Serves 8 people This product is only available for delivery on our Christmas delivery days (Thu 19 Dec, Fri 20 Dec, Sat 21 Dec, Sun 22 Dec, Mon 23 Dec, Tue 24 Dec)

I bought this because the one I had last year was so tasty, and the cooking liquor is good for soup. This time there were cooking instructions which I followed: like an old fashioned cook book we were told to soak the joint and throw away the water. That was from the days when you didn't know how long the joint had been in the curing liquid. I think I preferred last year's joint, which I didn't soak; this one was not over-salted, and next time I shall just scald, and then cook. But tell us on the recipe page what you think.
