Our Salt Beef Silverside joint is from 28-day dry aged West Country beef, cured by our Somerset Butcher. This means that each and every cut is packed with flavour and beautifully tender. A lovely alternative to the more traditional Christmas turkey. To prepare your Salted Beef Silverside, rinse under cold water, bring to the boil then simmer in plenty of water with your favourite blend of herbs & vegetables (we like keeping things simple with an onion and a couple of bay leaves). Simmer for 2 ½ - 3 hours until tender. Serves 4 people. This product is only available for delivery on our Christmas delivery days (Thu 19 Dec, Fri 20 Dec, Sat 21 Dec, Sun 22 Dec, Mon 23 Dec, Tue 24 Dec)

This was a bit if a shock when I read th3 cooking instructions...I've never boiled Ed a beef joint before but I put it in slow cooker with veg as advised and it turned out very tender an£ tasty and was easy to slice every one enjoyed it

Excellent flavour and very tender. Perfect for a family meal with some left over for sandwiches. Will definitely buy again.

This meat was amazing - everyone remarked on how lovely it was and how good it tasted. There was plenty to go around and even left over for boxing day.

Followed the instructions in F&F booklet, surprisingly delicious - not had this before. Absolutely no waste from this joint - great sandwiches with piccalilli the next day

I have never cooked this before. Luckily I had written down the cooking instructions when I bought it. It would be good to have the instructions sent with the meat. It was lovely. Perhaps a little more salt was needed. But I would have this again. It also really suits someone who prefers their meat rare and their partner who likes it burnt!
