Free Range Bronze Frenchbeer Turkey (4-5kg) Reviews

4.9 Rating 80 Reviews
Read Field & Flower Reviews

Our Frenchbeer turkeys are slowly grown, then slaughtered on farm, dry plucked and game hung to both enrich the breast meat and tenderise the leg meat. This process also makes sure there's fat under the skin, and because of game hanging, this moisture is locked in for cooking, resulting in deliciously moist breast meat. All of our Whole Turkeys and Turkey Crowns come with giblets in a separate bag and a pop-up timer.Well-known for a rich flavour and tender, moist meat, these turkeys are reared slowly on a whole food diet by our farmer John on his family-run Frenchbeer Farm in Devon. Free to roam, foraging as they please and housed safely overnight in small groups, the care and attention put into rearing the birds results in a flavour like no other.

So fresh, tasteful, moist and so big, the whole fmily loved this and passed comments on how good it tasted, so looking forward to maybe an Easter Turkey ?

This was our first turkey from Field and Flower and hopefully won't be our last. It was so tasty and never dried up even after a couple of days. To anyone reading this, I always brine my turkey 48 hours before cooking which helps to keep it moist but the flavour of this bird was phenomenal!

The turkey was great, very succulent. Due to the lockdown we weren't able to have family round, so we cut it up and gave our daughter's family a breast portion for their Christmas meal and she also commented that it was very moist, no additional butter required.

Great Turkey with excellent flavour. Not five stars as the back quills that remained from the plucking did mean the crispy skin was unappealing. However, this was a minor problem which did not detract from high quality and clearly high welfare produce.

We were happy with the quality however when we followed the instructions and opened the turkey bag to air when it arrived, it forced us to cook it the night before Christmas on the day due to the smell it was having. I’m not sure if turkeys are supposed to have a smell because it’s free range or not. I would have wished that things like these were detailed because it caused a lot of stress when to cook it.
