“I’ve had this a few months now and I still really like it. The only (minor) thing I don’t like is the blade guard. It’s held in place by two bolts. One has a plastic wing-nut so you can undo it by hand - but I don’t understand the point of that when the second one still needs a screwdriver. Also, the wing-nut is on the rip-fence side and sticks out so far that it can stop you doing thin cuts. You can get around this by flipping over the lower-profile fence but this is a faff and, being lower, does not guide your wood so effectively. Note that if you are planning to cut grooves in wood, (as opposed to cutting all the way through) the riving knife is higher than the blade and so needs removing. To reduce the risk of a violent kick-back I strongly recommend you buy the lower-profile one which is available as an accessory.”

“I ordered the R255TBL+, but did not receive it as the courier delivered to the wrong address and then took the item back with them. After a call to Customer Services the saw arrived early in the morning. It was 30C in the workshop, so I had only a short spell unpacking. Because of the temperature it took three early morning sessions to set up the saw. I eventually got to play with the saw and was amazed. Far quieter than my Dewalt, which I bought second hand about 25 years ago, and more accurate. Trimmed up a piece of rough pine and brought it down to 185mm by 75mm by 45mm. All faces and the ends were square and the sizes were accurate over the length of the piece. The cuts were smooth and would only need a light pass with a plane to get them ready for use. Having read others good reviews, I have to agree about the quality, design and performance of this machine. The piece of wood I had a quick play with was a scrap off cut from a job of yesteryear destined for a neighbours wood burner, but I think I will keep it! Seems a shame to throw away a nice piece of wood that now might come in handy for something one day! Now looking at the cross cut saw to add to my arsenal of Evolution equipment.”

“Purchase this as a replacement for my Rage 5 Table Saw. I'm an average DIY'er. Very impressed with the design, much improved over the RAGE 5. Love the soft start, rack and pinon fence, flip over fence design and sliding table insert. Accurate out of the box. Cut through 3/4 ply with easy. Very happy with my purchase. Delivered direct from Evolution the next day. Built into my existing bench set up.”

“There are lots of usefull features with this saw and the design has been well thought out. It all seems to work well without any howlers. For a mid range mid price saw to be used by trade as a site saw it is a little light and some components are a bit flimsy but that is being picky. pushing a half sheet of 18mm through it I had to put a foot on the stand to stop it being pushed over. Mine came with a dented and bent rail for the fence. Customer Services answered quickly, didnt quibble and were very infomed about the construction etc. There was no debate about how the rail became bent and a replacement was in the post after i mailed photos and ser no for correct id of part. - Impressed. Others have said the stand is a faf, I agree. It could have been supplid easily in two or three assemblies that bolt together rather than the multitude of smaller components I had to put together. It wasnt difficult but took a while, the whole set up of the stand and saw took half a day fom receipt which ate into my working day. I would suggest an extending side rail support for larger sheets if there isn't one as an after market. I have used most functions of the saw and would suggest the following: -The fence red line on the measure needs to be longer so it covers the silver measure as well as the black one. -Provide a heavier blade. -Make the hold down arm on the miter/cross cut sled stronger as it changes the angle/position of the wood when tightened.”
