So far so good with this saw. I've used it for various cuts on a variety of materials and it's handled up to and even beyond the stated capability with ease. It's had no problem slicing 250mm sleepers, 50mm concrete slabs and 150mm kerbstones. The supplied blade will make a decent job of wood cuts and lightweight metal but I added a specific wood blade for finer cuts (which were as good as a planed finish) and a diamond blade for masonry. Out of the box, setup was easy. It's definitely worth checking the fence and angle settings but mine were dead on as it came and the incremental markings are accurate enough for most jobs. Minor areas for improvement are a weak laser (although this is common across all saws I've seen - an added bonus for when you can see it indoors rather than something to rely on) and the stickers on the baseplate - these should be peel-off with a tab to do so before you use the saw. They serve no purpose other than advertising the saw's capabilities and will soon tear and obstruct the plate if you leave them on. A more serious thing is the fact that the depth stop has only a single knurled locknut. This causes it to back off during cutting and can ruin your material. I used a standard nut that was handily supplied in the bench mounting kit that came with the saw to lock the stop from both sides and this worked. This is something that Evolution could solve instantly and cheaply though, by including a second knurled nut in the kit. It'd be nice to make these available to customers who have already purchased a saw too! Overall though, this is a great bit of kit - plenty of power and great flexibility.

Quick turnaround time from ordering to delivery, well packaged and easy to set up. After 1st and subsequent operation the saw developed a fault with the motor cutting out after 4-5 seconds. Evolution were contacted and arrangements were made for collection & repair. Should take 7-10 working days before return. After 5 days no confirmation of receipt from Evolution or if saw is repaired

This is a great saw, though a few things that could be improved. Out of the box the screw holding the clamping device had no thread. Easy replacement. I would have liked the top arm to be a little longer so it extends closer toward the cut. The laser is totally useless, unless you work in the dark. Evolution would be better off removing the laser and save £10 on the cost of the saw. The sliding gates moved outward for 45 deg cuts seize in their slots as aluminium running inside aluminium picks up on it's self and you simply can't move them. Hammered ours out, filed a little of each and now they work reasonably well. Changed the blade for an 80 tooth TCT and wow, what a super smooth cut. No dressing required! Overall, excellent piece of kit and well worth the money. I also bought the bench which is very sturdy and also excellent value given it has extending roller supports each side too. Ace. My first job was to make a garden bench and footstools - easy. See photo.
