“After researching options for our travel to and from Kirkintilloch to Edinburgh Airport, for myself, two kids and our bags, I discovered that bringing our car and parking for ten days was more economical than two taxi rides.
The cheaper car park is some distance from the terminal, but there is a frequent free bus service that takes you there and back. My kids loved this extra journey, and a member of staff even helped me off with my luggage as I assisted the kids. Would definitely consider again, for the flexibility and value this option offers.”
“When I arrived at long stay (06/04/25)there were no disabled parking spaces available. I eventually found a spot and gradually made my way to the shuttle station. It was there I discovered they no longer ran. i pressed the assistance button and explained my problem. They sent a van and I was assisted right into the terminal. On my return (19/04) I was met by a man from OCS in the baggage collection area. I told him where I was parked and was told I couldn't be wheelchair assisted there, but would be taken to the taxi rank. However, we passed the taxis and carried on to the long stay. Halfway across the car parki he said that was as far as he could go. I was helped out of the wheelchair, my luggage loaded onto the seat and left to my own devices. This was past 0100hrs!!!!!! Quite some time later I got to my car. At the exit the number plate recognition wasn't working and the machine indicted i needed to pay £450. I pressed the intercom button, explained I had pre-booked. Gave my registration and the barrier lifted. An altogether dire experience.”
“Cheapest parking available for the days we needed. Arrived, ANPR recognised my numberplate. Press a button, get a ticket, barrier rises.
Plenty of spaces near the second bus stop, so parked there.
Spaces are tight when you drive a large 7 seat people carrier.
Waited at the stop, bus arrived quickly. Plenty of luggage room on the bus. Arrived a few minutes later near the departures.
On the way back, we waited a few minutes for a bus to take us back to the car.
Car was where we left, no damage. Drove to barriers, inserted ticket, barrier rose, we left.
It all worked as it should.
Have arranged parking in this car park for future flights too.”
