“I just bought this sunscreen and the serum as well the sunscreen is very sticky and leave a very white cast and if you rubbing you eyes it’s gone burn like hell and the serum just doesn’t worth the money very disappointed ....”
“This sunscreen is amazing! It glides on without leaving a white film and does not irritate my eyes even when exercising. Make-up stays put as well and does not slide at all. Will repurchase over and over.”
“I had high hopes for this sunscreen however i find that if I put the proper amount on it leaves a distinct white cast. I have light skin, medium when tanned.
I also find this takes a long time to dry down so I tend to apply 3 pumps separately leaving a long time in between.
Under make up this does look good, however often I don't like to wear foundation day-to-day and the white cast forces me to to balance it out.”
“This is the best sunscreen (cannot even call it sunscreen) ever!!! Nothing more to say. Pleasure to use, no primer required afterwards, great under makeup. I am recommending it to all my friends. On my third bottle.”
“Unfortunately I found this too greasy for my skin. Whilst I love the rest of the range this is not for me. I’m going back to Heliocare which Dr Sam also loves : )”
“After some research, I purchased this but unhappily, suffered an adverse reaction. From day 1, there was an unpleasant stinging / painful sensation around my eyes, accompanied by epiphora (/watering eyes); by day 4, this was so pronounced (& had spread to my cheeks) that I returned home specifically to wash my face/ remove the product (60-90mins after use). It also created a rough, sandpaper-like texture, with fine scale, to the skin around my eyes & on my forehead.
I e-mailed customer support who suggested using a “new product less often at the beginning eg ever other night” (I assumed this meant every other day) & that “it usually takes 4-6 weeks for skin to adapt to a new product”.
We exchanged a couple more e-mails, establishing that this was the only new product I was using and that, in the past, when I have used “actives” eg niacinamides in skincare, I have not suffered any sort of reaction. Ideally, they would have liked some photographs to illustrate my symptoms but pain cannot be visualised (by naked eye let alone camera-phone) and the palpable change to my skin’s texture was not something I was able to capture with only the camera on my phone to hand.
No refund was forthcoming so having spent £32.25 (incl P&P) and having ascertained with a high degree of certainty that this product - sadly - was not suitable for my facial skin, I started to use it over my lower neck / clavicle area, backs of hands and exposed areas on my feet. At that point, I was “rewarded” with a papular rash on my neck so unfortunately, I felt I had no other option than to bin the product.
NB The texture of this sunscreen is lovely, it was neither overly greasy nor drying, did not leave any ashy-white residue on my skin and was absolutely fragrance free. I note that the vast majority of comments are positive; I think I have just been unlucky (I haven’t suffered reactions of this type in the past). Just note that if this product doesn’t suit your skin, the...”
“Overall, I like the texture although it takes a while to sink in and can sometimes look greasy. It's similar to Elta-MD. It's very gentle, doesn't sting the eye area like other facial sunscreens and has less white cast than other products (although I hope they will also bring out a tinted version in time). However, I do think that the price point is too high for a product that should be re-applied several times a day.”
