I've been extolling the virtues of Sebclair cream for some time now. It keeps my Seborrheic dermatitis under control very well indeed. The main cause of Seb. derm. are the Malassezia yeasts on the skin and the cream does an excellent job of keeping those under control. I do have to recourse to a strong topical steroid about once a year for any tiny patch that gets out of control, but just for a few applications -- usually four or five. I also wash regularly in warm salt water (I use Dead Sea salt at one teaspoonful to half a pint of comfortably warm water, but any salt will do) leaving the solution on my skin for five minutes before rinsing thoroughly as this also kills the yeasts and other fungi on the skin as well as cleansing. All that said however, the Sebclair Cream is really the mainstay of my treatment regime and is terrific -- I wouldn't be without it -- I apply it once a day now, although it was twice a day to start with a few years back, and as I wrote a sentence or two ago it has limited any outbreak at all to just a tiny patch less than once a year. My advice is to keep the steroid creams in reserve (they damage the skin if used long term) and to cleanse with salt washes, every day to start with, and use the Sebclair Cream every day and don't miss a day because missing a day simply allows the skin yeasts and fungi to increase markedly and cause a flare up of your Seb. derm.

I ordered this along with the shampoo after a very quick & very painful flair up on my scalp, ears, neck, nose, eyebrows, back & hands. I’ve never felt anything like it, the pull in my hair & my neck was tourture & every time I looked in a mirror, something had changed for the worst. My nose went spotty & so oily with open pores & sore to touch. My neck at the back was tight & at the front was dry with wrinkles that deepened when I got hot. My skin couldn’t breathe at all. I quickly became anxious about my skin which won’t have helped. I ordered these because of the reviews & couldn’t wait for them to arrive. Before this I’d used tgel & an overpriced anti itch shampoo by some natural company along with their over priced body wash, a honey bee lotion that was over priced & made me look like an oil slick & lanacane to help with the itchy symptoms on my arms etc which worked but I didn’t enjoy using it, gave me a really horrible sensation applying it. I was a bit lost & was desperate. These arrived & I had to check to website to make sure I’d not ordered trial sizes, especially the shampoo. They were both small but I used them both & I especially liked the shampoo as it wasn’t harsh in anyway but it didn’t lather much. I used it as a face wash aswell as I was struggling for what to use & it seemed to be ok. I felt no real effects from the cream, when I applied it, it made my skin a little clammy but after a week it started to work a little & my nose especially looked calmer. Then I ran out. Of the cream & shampoo. All in a week. As much as it had started to improve a little, I wasn’t able to justify another £30 for a weeks treatment. 3x a day on the areas you have sd is ok if you have a bit here or there but I didn’t. It’s a shame, I’d have liked to see if the cream was effective but not for £15 & not for the size tube. Everything I’ve purchased has been over the £15 mark & has proved nothing in the way of healing, relieving or calming problematic skin. Since then I have used other seb derm products & am not convinced they are what they say they are. My condition has worsened, my neck now looks like that of Deirdre rasheed & my face looks like I’ve been sniffing glue. Australian tea tree clarifying skin wash is a big help, sanex aptopia shower/bath oil helps, I cleanse/tone/moisturise my face with the zinc/eff range by la Roche-posay & it doesn’t irritate my face. Drives you mad this condition, especially when there are so many products offering the promise that they work & all they do is drain your purse & leave you feeling deflated.

If you're reading this review you must be as desperate with your seborrheic dermatitis as I was after numerous GP creams & prescriptions failed to help with the red, inflamed oily patches, dry flaky skin & burning sensations across my cheeks & nose. I've been using it for 4 months now & yes it does do the trick but as time goes on you learn what works & what does not. Always wash your face first with a mild facial wash before applying as if you've got a flare up & keep applying the Sebclair you'll only be spreading the malatezze yeast into new areas of skin which start becoming infected. I apply the Sebclair each day then use CervaVe non oil based moisturiser which you can buy in Boots over the top. Look for moisturisers that do not feed the yeast. I can sometimes feel the burning, tingling sensations but the red , infected skin fails to develop to my astonishment. Sebclair is definitely a contributing factor to keeping flare ups at bay & I would recommend to fellow sufferers.

I use the Sebclair cream and I found that its the only cream that works for me. It's better than steroid cream. So thank you.
