Exclusive to Cutting Edge Knives in the UK the extremely fine finish gives an incredible sharpness but thanks to the handle, tip and core all being made of rubber, they're about as close to unbreakable as is possible with ceramic rods.

“Very happy with this item and the usual friendly service from Cutting Edge. Got advice from Richard of SKS, Sheffield knife services to buy this rod for my Japanese knives plus. As I want to just touch up my knives and use a professional sharpening service with my strop I have everything I need. The rod is well made and has a rubber stop making it easy to use by balancing the rod on a table. It seems to be very efficient. Using with my victorinox knives as well. Very useful sharpening tool for the house but please read or watch videos first.”

“Not a great deal to say about a honing rod. I will say the handle has a moderately ergonomic design, compared to the standard oblong grip of typical honing rods. This means it's less of a chore to hold if you're wanting to hone more than one knife. It is made out of a somewhat cheap feeling plastic though. The honing element of the rod is great and is definitely more effective than the steel one I have. Do be aware that scratches will appear almost immediately, as the ceramic has a black finish and isn't griddled like a regular honing rod.”

“I received this as an added bonus from buying a knife from cutting edge knives. I have always stayed away from ceramic honing rod as worried about breaking it but this being break resistant hopefully will last I have dropped it once and still in one piece. So highly recommended as does a great job realigning my knives. Also you’re buying from an independent family run business and based in the U.K.!”
