“The course material is fine and useful but the test is not up to date, referring to 'upcoming' legislation which came into effect three years ago, so can't exactly be considered upcoming anymore. Furthermore, the test does not actually aim to test if students have gained an understanding of the course material and subject matter. It is a multiple choice test aimed at checking if the student has memorised every other sentence in great detail. I don't think I am any better or worse at spotting the signs of domestic abuse because I manager to remember whether the person in case study X had been with their partner for 10, 11, 12 or 13 years before the abuse started. What am I learning from memorising a fact about a fictional person? How about quizzing me on what might be the best course of action when supporting this person instead? Either way, the course material is absolutely fine to help you gain an understanding but with quiz questions like these, the certificate doesn't feel like it's worth a lot.”
