“I made an error in my original application and they charged an outrageous administration fee to correct it. I felt I should not have contacted them to correct the error. Also there was a tax charge that was not made clear at the beginning. I will not use them again out of principle. At the end of the day I used Confused.com to find a cheaper insurance policy and it ended up costing me more than my previous insurance quote. NEVER AGAIN...”
“This firm have been negligent in controlling their financial partner ...(admitted) ...called Close Brothers and their own adminstration. When I took out the OneCall policy and applied for a monthly payment I was unable to open their downloaded terms and conditions and still can't.
I was surprised when around 14 days after taking out the policy to receive a letter with an enclosed application form for credit from a so called broker called Close Brothers . The contents of the letter said to keep my policy I was required to fill in this form. The small print said the apr was 29% each month and that even if I cancelled the policy all 11 payments due would have to be made. I didn't sign the form....I returned it with a letter that I had signed up to OneCall who avertised 12%. I was not going to sign the Close Brothers application form. I reported them to OneCall who said at that time, this broker was nothing to do with them.
I then had a much larger amount than agreed removed from my account. £42 instead of £33.17. It took around 4 weeks before I found out why. They claimed I had failed to reveal a claim in 2012. I had a no claim bonus with a complete ongoing history. Noone had ever mentioned this claim at all in 13,14,15,16. After investigation this so called claim arose via a note by AVIVA that a missing bag with of course a missing car key when I was visiting I believe a supermarket had resulted in them activating the lost key policy I had taken out at the same time of the car insurance. AVIVA's staff had entered it as a theft but the bag was recovered with the key. By the time the matter was sorted out . the claim had passed the 5 year limit.
Due to all the stress from OneCall and Close Brothers who were still making threats I arranged to cancel the car insurance policy. It cost me £60 after I had made an official complaint when one of the call centre staff tried to charge me £280
DURING this complaint to OneCall the extra charges they had added to my payments were removed. NOW I am having to deal with a threatening letter from Close brothers, who are aware that the car insurance is closed. There were two letters today from them. One saying they knew the policy was cancelled and the other demanding 10 payments .
YOU need to stop advertising OneCall. The complaints against them are mounting up. I am renewing my complaint to Trading Standards and The Financial Ombudsman..”
