It is convenient to have your policy emailed to you but I am old school and would like the policy on paper and posted to me.

Your request to rate this car insurance is incorrect, since I cancelled it before I was charged. I took out a car insurance policy via Confused.com A YEAR AGO (with Lloyds Car Insurance Services). I did not realise that the insurance would automatically renew after 12 months. I received an email late at night recently thanking me for renewing with Lloyds (at a premium that was more than £50 higher than the previous year. Not only was the rate much inflated (despite no claims), but it came with hardly any extras. I had already found several examples/offers on Gocompare.com with more extras (such as a free courtesy car, etc) for around £40/£50 cheaper. It was out of office hours when the email arrived so I could not call the insurer to stop the policy renewal until the following day - so I called my credit card company (to whom the charge would have been levied) and had the proposed charge 'blocked' just in case. The next day I contacted Lloyds Car Insurance who said they had posted me details of the renewal (which I had not received). Fortunately, the charge had not gone through the system and Lloyds (who I bank with) waived the admin charge that I could have incurred for cancelling. But it has been a very disappointing experience.
