The ASA 20 battery-powered secateurs are designed for effortless pruning work around the garden. Part of the AS System, they are powered by an AS 2 lithium-ion battery and can cut through green material of up to 25mm in diameter. The fast-closing speed of the blades allows users to work efficiently to complete jobs much faster when compared to using standard manual secateurs. The blades of the ASA 20 can be set to two different opening widths. This means you can speed up when cutting thin twigs and branches. A progressive cut means the blade will also follow the user’s finger on the trigger for maximum control and precision when pruning. A quick guide showing you how to change the blade opening is printed above the battery bay.A blade guard is included to prevent damage to the blades during transport or storage. An integrated maintenance tool is included in the battery bay, which allows you to complete simple maintenance tasks or adjust/remove the blade set when out working. The ASA 20 secateurs are incredibly lightweight, weighing less than 1kg, making them comfortable to use over long periods of time. The balance of the secateurs also helps to reduce wrist strain during use.  A clear OLED display on the side of the tool shows the current battery charge level, the blade opening width selected and the total number of cuts made by the tool.On a full charge with the recommended AS 2 battery, the ASA 20 can make a maximum of 2000 cuts.

Well worth buying a top of the range secateurs. I have never been let down by my other stihl products and am sure these will last a long time. Very easy to use especially since my carpel tunnel problems have restricted my normal hand movement.

I found it took a bit of getting used to, but within ten minutes I was fine. I Would recomend it and the mini chain saw that runs on the same battery to everybody that does a fair amount of pruning, it's certainly easier than secateurs.

Excellent piece of kit you won’t be disappointed. I’ve only used one bar on the battery and made 759 cuts . Everyone who has seen me using it are really impressed.

A superb piece of kit! I have been recommending this to all of my gardening friends. With the ability to cut up to 1" / 2.5cm these secateurs are able to cut through more than my regular hand secateurs with ease. With 2000 cuts on a charge you don't have to keep stopping to re-charge. It is more a case of stopping before you get too carried away. I've been particularly pleased with how they have dealt with an old wild rose with thick dry stems and a lilac that was desperately in need of a renovation prune. I woud just reiterate the instruction book - wear thick gloves, eye protection and no loose clothing. I'd recommend using when alone in the garden with no danger of distraction too. Treat yourself, someone else or put them on your Christmas/Birthday list.

well, received this, ready to give to my mum as a birthday present. package arrived fine, opened to check the unit over, to find the plastic guard with a split running down it. I meant to get in touch but being in and out of hospital lately, this hasn't been a major priority yet. other than the guard damage, love this pair of snips, but mum will love these so much more when she opens the box. For some reason though, this box had been opened and sealed with buxtons tape. thought that was odd considering this was a package from Stihl.
