The HSA 26 battery-powered handheld shrub shears are brilliant for use in small and large gardens alike, as they make pruning small-leaved trees and shrubs so easy! The HSA 26 delivers a precise, clean finish when maintaining topiary or hedges using the shrub blades. Having the gta26 mini chainsaw I though the addition of the shrub shears would be a usefull addition, it's a shame they don't offer a choice of the kit without the charger as I already have one, but I didn't want the bare unit because an extra battery is very useful. Whilst I cannot fault the gta26, the shrub shears are a bit too lightweight for most applications. The blades ideally need to be a thicker gauge and the opening of the teeth a couple of millimetres wider, to tackle for example brambles which although not a tough branch are too thick to be cut. The blades will stall on hard thin stems like blackthorn, hawthorn, there's just not enough power. Great for close pruning of fine bushes with thin 2 or 3mm stems but not much else. The changing of the heads is a bit fiddly. The grass shears however are quite useful for trimming grass around bunches of daffodils in the lawn etc. Battery life seems to be very good. Could be much better if not so flimsy.

Needed a small, cordless trimmer for a couple of shrubs. Not tried yet but looks just the job.

Cuts well but ergonomically faulty due to weight distribution in hand in the cutting position. More balance required.

Brilliant. I have no hesitation in recommending these shears. I’ve used them on box and euonymus and they cut through these like butter.
