“Compared with 'big hands', there are advantages: no bending, and the shape of the gatherers perfectly fits your leaf mould/compost bag so you can neatly grab a pile of leaves and stuff them in without spilling much. 'Big hands' are better for gathering up leaves, especially those on borders (since the grabber is limited by the size of its jaws), but you bend the whole time and they are very messy in putting leaves into the bags. I use 'big hands' on borders. But with a plastic rake and the leaf grabber above, and use of the leaf blower, I can now collect almost all of the leaves without bending over. Long explanation for a cheap and invaluable bit of equipment. I add that the jaws of the grabber I got didn't align very well, but in practice that doesn't matter at all.”
