In the world of bushcraft, the most popular pruning saw is probably the Bahco Laplander, cheap, lightweight, good quality folding pruning saw, with a flexible blade. Also popular are Silky Saws like the Gomboy. A Japanese pull saw that cuts brilliantly, but firstly Silky saws are expensive, secondly the blade tends to be unforgiving and are easy to snap. This Samurai FC210 represents a great compromise the best of both worlds. It is an aggressive pull saw so it cuts really well, faster than a laplander, I bent it a couple of times it sprang back to perfect shape, didn't snap like a Silky might. It's lightweight, ergonomic, looks good and the bright red makes it easy to spot, the blade locks open and closed. So for me the Samurai os a great pruning saw, but then you get to the price, which makes it exceptional value, well worth buying.

A very capable saw, sharp and sturdy. Constant companion. Purchased the straight/curved blade saw also.

These saws are superb I’ve bought 3 now I also purchased a silky at over twice the price and it’s fair to say the Samurai is by far better IMO. You have to understand it cut on the pull stroke and once that’s registered in your mind they perform perfectly.
