“Grill works well enough, but was very fiddly to assemble and due to poor machining in two places, I needed to use a lot of force to get the wheel axle through, and one of the wing-top sides doesn't lock in place - but only discovered this once grill nearly fully assembled.”
“I purchased this BBQ via BBQ world and delivery took around 5 days. It arrived all safe and well on a pallet. I chose this as a replacement to our aging Webber Q2200 that had seen much better days having spend most of the last 6 years+ living out doors in sunny Wales.
I was looking for something with similar features like aluminium casing and stainless steel burners with cast griddle that could survive the weather we get however not at the Webber price point. I had gone though the options at the lthe big retailers and they were frankly garbage and seen this over £100 less than the Webber.
We assembled the BBQ last night and overall it went together simply though there is a bit more in it compared to the Webber. Took about 40 mins all in.
Comparing it to my previous bbq while this is similar materials it’s not got the build quality of the Webber.
The cast aluminium fire box is larger than I expected with plenty of cooking space and a nice warming rack and thermometer build in. The handle is fairly sold and the plastic side shelves clip on and off easily and can be folded down to create more space when in storage.
A noticeable point while the fire box is aluminium it is a lot thinner than the Webber, it feels noticeably fragile in comparison, the Webber felt like it could take a knock or a drop where as this feels like of it was to receive one it would crack or break easily. It’s not like tin thin but you can flex the sides if you press on them and overall it’s a much thinner cast.
The stainless burners and internals do feel good quality though so no complaints there and the control on the front are mounted onto a stainless piece again that’s all good. Though behind it there is some galvanised metal you can see that holds some of the parts around the valves. Electronic ignition is a nice touch as well and works good.
The cast griddle is of a good quality and I have no complaints. They feel weighty but again not quite as much as the Webber ones were. They also require seasoning before use but again all good.
The stand has to be completely assembled and is made from painted/power coated steel and some plastic parts. It’s neither think or thin steel and feels very sturdy once assembled, one note is many of the screw holes are not actually threaded and instead are punched to create a bite on the screw when tightened. This can be easily over done though so be warned when tightening.
The base also included an extra plate to hold the bottle off the bottom that’s a nice touch as well.
I do have some worries in how well the black power cost and paint on the base will hold up in a U.K. winter and think things will start to rust if not protected so be warned.
Overall this BBQ was a fair amount of money cheaper than the Webber Q2200 however I can say you are feeling that reduction in cost in the build quality. It’s not remotely a cheap feeling BBQ like some of the ones you find in the likes of the big DIY retailers. It’s far more sold, good materials and overall has a good quality feel however it’s not up the standard as the Webber.
BUT It’s much better than many you will see out there.
I do have some concerns over how the steel work will hold up over a winter with the galvanised and power coated parts so I would advice this one has dry storage to keep it preteen.
For its price you’re getting a really nice BBQ that I think 99% of people will be very happy with, it just can’t quite live up to the Webber on quality.
Overall very pleased though.”
“Bought to replace my 20 year old Fiesta 4000 , also Canadian with cast aluminium firebox .. no longer available. BK 310 is one of the few aluminium bbqs on the UK market. Slightly tricky for one person to assemble and some screw holes did not quite align and needed “ persuasion “ … overall not as sturdy as the Fiesta but accept smaller entry level model. Pleased so far with performance. The plastic key pins for folding shelves seem awkward so not using as shelves seem stable enough. So generally happy.”
“Great bbq for 4-6 people. Well made should last a long time . Cast iron grids are great and non stick if prepared well. Aluminium chassis hold heat well and won't rust .”
“Delivered next day. Well packaged, quality item. This is the third Broil King BBQ we have had since 1996. If this lasts as well as the previous two, we will be very pleased.”
