Attitude 2go CV Portable Gas BBQ Reviews

I've had a couple of weeks to test out the Campingaz Attitude 2Go CV now and I've not been disappointed. From the moment I unpacked it and assembled the parts (very quick and easy to do, even for me!)I could tell this is a very well made and sturdy piece of kit. It looks really smart too which is a nice bonus. I was also impressed by how lightweight it is (13kg) making it easy to move around by yourself. I've only used charcoal BBQs in the past so I was impressed just how easy this was to attach the gas and quickly get cooking on it. The even heat distribution of the cooking surface makes for fantastic cooking results too. So much so, I'm not sure I'd return to charcoal now. The large thermometer on the lid makes it very easy to monitor and keep control of the temperature to ensure food is cooked to perfection. I also found it a really decent cooking size considering how portable it is still. One issue with BBQ can be the clean up afterwards but again, Campingaz Attitude 2Go CV has this covered with the front loading grease tray and enamel plates which are dishwasher friendly! I can't wait to get out to more places in the sunny weather with this

On arrival the box was bigger than I had imagined. On opening the box, the barbeque was packed very well, with canister holder to the side and grill plates secured to the front. Once I'd managed to get the barbeque out of the box setting up was no issue it was very simple, I inserted the drip tray at the bottom and attached the gas canister and set was complete. I like the look and feel of the exterior. The grill plates are heavy and smooth. This is the first gas barbeque I've ever used or owned I usually use a charcoal one. I've had a chance to try it a few times and will be using it more over the coming months. I like that it heats up quickly, it's similar to using a gas cooker. The heat is distributed evenly as the burner is long and shaped like a hook. My food was cooked rather well but faster as I didn't have to wait very long for the heat up time. So far, I have cooked chicken breast, chicken legs, chicken wings, lambchops, beef burgers and an assortment of vegetables on the barbeque. The first time I cleaned it after using it I decided to leave it until the morning which was not a good idea as I had to spend some time scrubbing it and pouring hot water over it several times. That's why I recommend cleaning the barbeque while it's still a little warm as it will require less effort. I've had no issues washing the drip tray and grill plates in the dishwasher. Overall, I thought that the Campingaz was sturdy, high quality, not too big but great for a small family going on a camping trip or using at home, it didn't require assembly as it came fully assembled. The exterior and lid interior are easy to clean I wipe it down with a damp cloth. The only thing I felt that was out of place and this could just be me was the dial. Although it has rubber around not leaving much of the dial exposed those parts that are exposed just feel like the material that it is made of is not to the same high quality as the rest of the barbeque.

having put off buying a new bbq as was so unsure of what I needed, this product ticks ALL the boxes. It is really sturdy. Actually would use it as a travel BBQ as well as home as it is the perfect size to fit enough food on for a family of 5. The small gas canisters make it so simple to use with the 'click' system, but also more portable not having to worry about large canisters. So simple to clean. The drip tray works a treat. I invested in the cover for ours and it has a little toggle on so doesn't get blown away in the UK weather. can't wait to take it along to festivals. 10/10 from me and mine. UPDATE : In the great weather recently, we have put the BBQ to the test a bit further and been cooking breakfasts on it and even while sitting around the fire in the evening, made hot chocolates using it as a 'hob'! Still on the first gas bottle, which I'm amazed by. If I had to find anything to change about it, it would be the control knob, which is quite flimsy given the brilliant quality of the rest of the kit. Still wouldn't stop me recommending it.

I will start with the one negative. The heating control is a loose and fell off a few times so we are going to have to glue it on. Now, the positives. At least some of them as you don't have all day to read them all! We manages to get enough food on to feed six people at a time. The heat is spread evenly so you don't end up with unevenly cooked food. You can just flip your burgers and steaks once. It is a perfect size to transport. It is a little heavy, but absolutely worth it. I found it very easy to clean and it was so easy to use that my son managed to cook his own frankfurters! The flames do easily blow out though so you need to use it somewhere sheltered. I think the asking price for this is amazing. Having tried it, I'd be happy to pay twice that! I can't ever imagine going anywhere without it now.

Starting with the unit itself I was really impressed with the build quality of the BBQ. Out of the box it was almost 100% fully assembled and was well packaged. The exterior finish feel high quality and the grill plates themselves had a lot of heft to them. In less than 60 seconds I felt I was set up and ready to go. So BIG TICK and super simple start. BBQ gets up to temperature super quickly and was impressed with the universal distribution of heat across the whole surface (especially moving from a coal BBQ). I also loved the ability to adjust the temperature on the fly to deal with cooking different meats. It also helped fix the key risk of Coal BBQ, losing meat between the grills and the cooking plates completely prevented this. Found it to be super simple to clean as well after use but plates needed quite a bit of scrubbing to get clean. The reason that I've taken a star off is for a couple of things. I had the family round for a BBQ to fully test the unit to its limits and while efficient, its probably a bit small for any more than 2 people as whilst you can cook quite a lot on the main surface there's no storage or racks to keep food warm. Also rather annoyingly there is a large gap between the cooking surface and the lid through which food can slip through and fall onto the floor behind the BBQ (lost a couple of burgers to this). I've also found after just one BBQ the surface itself hasn't cleaned up as well as I'd expected (maybe I just need to put in some more elbow grease) But despite this I can see myself using this a lot as the weather improves as its just so quick to set up and cook and then clean down.

Having tested this BBQ recently, I can honestly say it's the best portable BBQ I have ever used. As somebody who likes little adventures, which often involve camping, a trusty cooking source is always much needed. The Campingaz Attitude 2Go CV provides just this. It is small enough that it isn't an inconvenience to pack and take away with us, but big enough to cook plenty of food for a family of 4 at once. Probably too big to carry down the local park, but for travels camping/holidays absolutely ideal. Cooking wise it is fabulous. The cast iron plates help a lot with this I think, and it gives an even reliable cook. The temperature measure on the front of the BBQ is a really useful feature as well. It was very easy to clean afterwards too, which is great for a busy family with limited time! The drip tray does it's job perfectly, and again was simple to remove and clean. Overall, we wouldn't go back to any other BBQ. This is the one you need.

I was a bit concerned with the size of the packaging but don't let looks and weight deceive you once this BBQ is all unpacked the BBQ is very light weight and portable. I have always cooked in coals and have never been tempted by gas but this has definitely changed my mind. On a lovely windy spring day out I go with BBQ put in the two easyly inserted and removed iron cooking plates. Add the gas canister with just a push and turn then stored in a convenient holder at the back of the BBQ that's it ready to go. Then with a turn of the knob and a push of the button hey presto we have heat. I left it for around 5 minutes with hood closed to let it build up the heat, nothing like having to wait the long time you do with coals and that was it all ready to add the food. The grease trap tray is ideal slipped in underneath to catch those dripping oils. I wasn't sure what the flavour would be like would gas really give me that authentic barbecue taste, to my surprise 20 minutes later when the food was cooked time to tuck in and yes that taste was there just perfect if I do say so myself. I did turn they heat down ten minutes through with the easy to use control on the side just to ensure I didn't charcoal the food. When it comes to the part no one likes and that's the cleaning it's easy especially with the fact the grill plates are as two units and not one so easy to remove and put into hot soapy water a little soack and everything just wipes off, the same as the grease tray just empty then a quick wash. The BBQ it's self is also easy to clean just a little hot soapy water and it's like new again. Another great aspect is the size so it's easy to store no need for a shed or no moving everything around to store it and no huge gas cannisters to store. Would I recommend this of course I would I have been converted no more messy charcoal for me
