“Before I start I’d like to say I’m an amateur woodwind tooter (musician would be pushing it!) & own a EWI USB, recently purchased from Amazon UK. I contacted BassBags to ask if the EWI USB would fit in the 4/5000 case & received a super-quick response of ‘yes’ so I decided to buy. The very well packed case arrived within a couple of days of ordering: slowed by the UK spring Bank Holiday. The case is well-made & very sturdy, with zippers that run very smoothly – this is a nice change from some instrument cases I’ve had in the past. The case is a tad too big for the slightly smaller (than the EWI 4/5000) EWI USB, but that is not an issue as my newly purchased sax strap (Neotech 1902162) fills the gap nicely, with the spare mouthpiece & cloth, etc. fitting into the smaller compartment of the main case. The USB cable & other bits & pieces all fit snugly into the long zippered internal pocket/pouch. The whole case is well padded & holds the instrument gently, but firmly in place. There is a rucksack-type loop handle at one end of the rather long case & a detachable carry strap is also supplied & spans the back of the case for easy transporting of your EWI. The only thing I find puzzling is the zippered section containing a long piece of plywood. I can see wood provides strength to the case lid, but why isn’t it integral to the lid? It’s not an issue just a puzzle. All told I am very pleased with the case, but it’d be nice if there was a smaller EWI USB-specific case available for the 4/5000’s diminutive cousin.”

“This Akai EWI case is perfect for my fabulous EWI 5000! The case is very solid, and easy to carry. There is sufficient room for all the accessories I want to bring with me, including amplifier cables and my extra padded neck strap. Worth the price!”
