“I bought the Ankarsrum Assistent from Bakery Bits, primarily because they were a U.K. service centre for them, most sellers having the same price. It’s so far performed faultlessly, it’s robust and I made decent bread with it from the first use, the steep learning curve I’d heard about wasn’t a thing in my experience. The reason I bought it was that our Kenwood Chef was suffering very premature wear because of 2-3 bread making sessions a week, plus it required extra kneading by hand, the Ankarsrum makes good well kneaded dough and the first prove in the mixer bowl with the supplied lid makes things a lot easier. The other things that I love about the “Ank” are the high finish, quiet operation and the fact that after making 3 large loaves and a batch of Pitta bread dough the mixer was just warm, the Kenwood would have been uncomfortably hot.
The service so far from Bakery Bits has been excellent, with same day despatch and the Ank packed in three (!) recyclable boxes also using recyclable wadding to prevent damage in transit, No Foam chips here!
