“I use it with an equal weight of strong white flour to make bread. The night before I make a sponge. Add the flour in the morning. Very little yeast required. I keep the dough as wet as possible and fold it twice as it rises. It makes great free form loaves with a chewy crust, light texture and great flavour. Bread freezes well. Thaw in a sealed bag”

“.....and as with the first, the goods arrived well packed and were exactly what was expected. But now, I'm going to have a whinge. Sorry.
Another thing the two orders had in common was the length of time between the date of order and the date the goods were despatched. In this case, the order was online on 26 March, and despatch 3 April, although Royal Mail couldn't track the parcel for 24 hours after that (and I know that Easter weekend sat in the middle of those dates). In an age where I can order goods from almost anyone online and generally have them turn up, if not the following day, then almost certainly within 72 hours, waiting around for over a week to see the order despatched is a pain.
Royal Mail finally delivered the package while I was away; they said 6 April in their emailed advice, so could have been then or the 7th. Got an email yesterday (11 April) from them proudly announcing that they delivered the parcel to my safe place on 11 April.
I like BakeryBits - I like the quality and range of their goods, and their website is a super source of advice and information. Well laid-out, too. In return I feel that I really should use them for purchases - customer loyalty, see? But the extended delivery times for orders (on the strength of my experience) is irritating, to say the least. I know they don't have Amazon's resources, but a couple of weeks elapsed just doesn't cut it in 2018.”
