“Good looking, solid, and really nice to work with. Used straight away without any preconditioning, drop of olive oil as release agent and first pie came away beautifully. Easy clean - wipe over with lightly oiled paper. Heavy, so needs more oven preheat than aluminium to get a good bottom crust, but bakes a fine pie once you get adjusted. Only real limitation is that iron reacts with acid juices so you always need to remove fruit pies etc to another dish before cutting into them, which can be a bit fiddly.”
“This is a fabulous pie dish. I have made several well-filled pies in it and they have all baked perfectly and released from the dish cleanly and instantly. I have found it easy to care for, useful instructions are included. It looks the part too and the heritage adds interest. Highly recommended.”
“There is nothing I don’t like about this pan. Delicious crust. Care is needed when baking with it the first time to season it. But with constant use little care is needed. Would like to have the 8’ one as well waiting for Bakery Bits to sell that one as well.”
“Unusual for BB that I received no response regarding the lid for this pan being almost impossible to get on. I tried to use it and burned myself in the process of trying to remove it. I know how to use the pans as I have two perfectly good smaller versions.
Perplexed at lack of reply from a company who are usually so good on customer service.”
