Rotel CD11MKII CD Player - Black New Reviews

4.9 Rating 13 Reviews
I purchased a Rotel CD11 Tribute from AA to replace a CAL DX-1 that I bought new in 1995 (serviced once, when still under warranty). So far, the CD11 has exceeded my expectations - it's quiet & musical, and has me digging out CDs from storage that I haven't listened to in years. Also, this is the second time I've bought a "factory refreshed" item from AA and saved some dough. They've both been indistinguishable from new, and with full warranty - don't hestitate to pull the trigger if you see something you want in the AA "clearance" section, it's a great deal. To finish, the only unknown here is how many years of service I'll get from this fine sounding player, and I realize that 28 is probably unreasonable! System is AR LS3, Parasound A21, ProAc DT8, and cables by Kimber & TARA Labs.

My prior CD player was one that had been in StereoPhile's recommended list's budget category. It had served me very well for several years. However, I was looking for something new to replace it and enjoy improvements that might now possibly be available. Consequently, when Rotel issued their Tribute Series, the CD11 caught my eye. I listen mainly to Classical music and folk and roots music, and the CD11 provides excellent detail, pace and ambiance. I am totally satisfied with my purchase. Bravo to Rotel and Audio Advisor!

I had one cd player, vintage 1988, since they came on the market. The difference between cd sound and vinyl was always vast, with vinyl being better. It's clear that the industry has figured out a lot since my first player. This one sounds very good. Vinyl still gets the nod, but this one has closed the gap considerably.

Rotel knocked it put of the park with this player. No extra bells and whistles. Just pure natural sound. The complete package!

I confess I've put off reviewing this player until I've really had a chance to test it. Haven't played any of my CD-Rs yet. What I have played, I've really enjoyed. I think this player brings out a depth, clarity, and sweetness. Obviously some recording sound better than others. But since I have a huge CD collection, I'm very happy with the Rotel CD11 Tribute. I'm holding back a star because this isn't a fancy player, but it does what does very well.
