1 Build is superb and a it’s great looking unit
2 Sound is as expected with the Brand - Excellent
3 Beefy toroidal amp and capacitor units.
4 MADE IN THE USA!!!
A couple things I’d like improved:
1 The plastic remote is cheap for an $1900 unit. Metal should be the default.
2 Would like to have a USB connection.
3 Would like to have a digital input/output
4 would like an off/on function on the remote

“Very nice unit. I prefer it to a solid state unit I heard at twice the price, and a highly regarded tube pre at three times the price. I use a separate tube phonostage that I like a little better, but the included phono is no slouch. The included headphone amp is better than my old outboard one. Couple all of this with the great functionality and affordability, and it's a real winner. Highly recommended!”

I wanted a tube preamp to go along with my tube amplifier. I talked to Jay at Audio Advisor and he recommended the Rogue Audio RP-1.
I plugged it into my system and turned it on. Immediately, I was amazed at how great it sounded! I didn't expect too much at first and figured it needed some time to break-in. The sound was lush and full of detail. I heard things I've never heard before. I know that sounds like a clichÃ:copyright: but the sound was smooth, liquid, detailed with a fuller soundstage. I've had the RP-! for 6 months and I still love it.
It was a little pricey but I'm glad I made the purchase.
The build is solid and it's a heavy piece of equipment. My only I just wish the remote control had the same finish and build as the preamp. The remote works fine but it's plastic and doesn't match the sturdiness of the preamp.”

“My new Rogue RP-1 is a wonderful piece of equipment. I love the high grade parts and very solid build. Sound quality is amazing. I's also very easy to use. The balanced placement of controls looks pleasing. I's built-in phono stage is of high enough quality to not require a stand alone. I'm not sure which headphones work best with this unit but maybe mine needs more run-in. I would highly recommend this American made gem.”
