“It should be made known that RP-1 is reversed polarity. I thought it sounded very thin until I discovered and verified from Rogue I need to reverse positive and negative at speakers. Once reversed sound was fantastic.”

“I bought this preamp to put between a Node 2i and a NAD C298 amp. The whole package drives a pair of B&W 603 S2's.
I chose the tube front-end to provide a smooth detailed signal going into the speakers which can be quite forward with the wrong gear. I'm really pleased with the preamp. It's smooth, detailed without being analytical, and provides a convincing soundstage. Highly recommended.”
“This preamp is way better than the price would lead one to believe. Silky with a touch of tube warmth but not lacking in detail. It reminds me so much of the Conrad Johnson line stage I owned in the 90s,but better. After adding a pair of super efficient speakers in my system (103db!) several months ago I felt my very transparent pre was too hyper detailed and no longer the best match - the upper mids were rough and irritating no matter how I tweaked the system. This Rogue rp1 brought everything back in balance from the moment I first turned it on.”
